Delete your account.

You can permanently delete your Madyo account and personal data at any time — from inside the app, or by asking us directly.

This page explains how to delete your Madyo account (app developer: Madyo Limited, Lilongwe, Malawi) and what happens to your data when you do. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you only want to stop notifications, you can turn those off in Settings → Preferences instead.

1. Delete from within the app (fastest)

If you have the Madyo app installed:

  1. Open the app and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Go to the Menu tab, then Settings.
  3. Under Account, tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm when prompted.

Your account and personal data are removed immediately and you're signed out. You won't be able to sign back in to that account.

2. Delete by request (no app needed)

If you can't access the app, email us from the address on your Madyo account and we'll process the deletion for you:

Put “Delete my account”in the subject line. We may ask one or two questions to confirm it's really you before we delete anything. We action verified requests within 30 days, usually much sooner.

3. What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Your profile photo
  • Your saved delivery addresses
  • Your reviews and ratings
  • Your support chat history
  • Your sign-in credentials and notification tokens (so the account can't be used again)

4. What we keep, and why

We retain a record of your past orders— but detached and anonymized, so they're no longer linked to you or to any contact details. We keep these for legitimate business and legal reasons: financial and tax records, fraud prevention, and settling payments with the kitchens and riders who fulfilled those orders.

These records contain no information that identifies you. Where the law requires us to keep certain transaction data for a set period, we keep only what's necessary and delete it when that period ends.
